James Evans
Associate Director at Bell Shakespeare.

A self-confessed “Shakespeare nut”, James has been immersed in acting and directing on stage and screen for more than two decades. For Bell Shakespeare, his recent work includes Hamlet (dramaturg and actor in 2020 and 2022), Much Ado About Nothing (director in 2019) and Julius Caesar (director in 2018). As a facilitator, James has conducted hundreds of Shakespeare masterclasses in schools, universities, theatres and juvenile detention centres across Australia, Asia and the US. He is a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (Acting) and holds a Masters of Arts (English) from the University of Sydney.
